Privacy Policy

HauteKit ("we", "us") operates the Satellite Tracker mobile application (the "App"). This policy explains what information the App handles, why, and the choices you have. By using the App you agree to the practices described here.

Information the App handles

• Your location is used to show which satellites are above you and to compute visible passes. It is used at roughly city-block precision, is stored only on your device, and you can instead set a location manually or deny the permission entirely.
• As the one exception, when you check cloud cover, your coordinates are sent to Apple (WeatherKit) to return local weather; coordinates are cached rounded to about 1 km.
• The camera is used only for the AR sky view: frames are shown live on screen and are never stored or uploaded.
• Pass reminders are local notifications created on your device; there is no push server and no device token.
• Satellite orbit data, launch schedules and crew information are downloaded from public sources (such as CelesTrak and Launch Library); these requests contain no personal data and no location.
• The App has no account system, no analytics, and no advertising, and it does not track you across apps.

The App does not require an account and does not ask for your name, email address, or phone number.

How information is used

The information described above is used only to run the App's core features: showing which satellites are above your location, computing visible passes, sending you local reminders, and improving the App. We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell or rent personal information to anyone.

Data storage and retention

We do not operate user accounts and do not maintain profiles of individual users. Content you create in the App is stored on your device and is under your control; deleting the App removes it. Your location, favorites and observation records are stored only on your device and are removed when you delete the App. We run no user accounts and no servers that hold your data, so there is nothing for us to retain.

Data security

All network requests made by the App use encrypted connections (HTTPS), and we limit what leaves your device to the minimum a feature needs. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, but collecting less is the most reliable protection.

Your choices and rights

• You can use the App without providing any personal information.
• You can erase everything the App has created by deleting it from your device.
• Depending on where you live, the law may give you rights to access, correct or delete personal information. Because we do not hold identifiable user profiles, your device is the fastest place to exercise those rights — and you can always contact us with a request.

Children's privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

International users

The App is offered worldwide. Orbit data, launch schedules and crew information are downloaded from public data sources, which may be located in a country other than yours; these requests contain no personal data. Using the App means you understand and accept this.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always available on this page.
